Power of Purple
Today across Canada, students are walking through their school in support of youth mental health. On February 7th, 2012 students are encouraged to wear purple as part of the D.I.F.D School Challenge.
Do It For Daron is a youth-driven program created by the friends and family of Daron Richardson who lost her life to suicide at the age of 14. The Power of Purple Challenge inspires students to talk about mental health without fear of judgment; assist in breaking down the stigma that has prevented those from seeking help in the past; and help to transform youth mental health by raising vital funds for research, care and suicide prevention.
Not a student? you can still take part. Throughout the month of February 2012, Power of Purple Challenge encourages the business community to breakdown the stigma of mental health by starting conversations about mental health with each other, their family and their friends.
