20th Annual MOTH tournament
KIDSPORT™ OTTAWA IS HOLDING ITS TWENTIETH ANNUAL MOTH HOCKEY TOURNAMENT TO PROMOTE ACTIVE LIVING AND SPORT INVOLVEMENT FOR OTTAWA’S DISADVANTAGED KIDS
WHAT: KidSport™ Ottawa will be hosting the 20th annual MOTH (Montreal, Ottawa Toronto, Hockey) tournament. Men’s and Women’s non-contact hockey tournament. Teams from Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto are invited to join in the fun in support of KidSport™ Ottawa. There will be two divisions this year; men (mid-level competitive) and women recreational. Maximum of 12 teams per men's division and 8 teams per women's rec division. Teams are guaranteed 3 games.
WHO: Men’s and Women’s non-contact hockey teams are invited to register and participate. EVERYONE can come out to raise funds, increase their community profile and cheer on the teams. In order to raise additional funds, teams are encouraged to participate in the charity raffle being held in conjunction with the tournament. See list of prizes below.
WHERE: Jim Durrell Center (1264 Walkley Rd.) and Sandy Hill Arena (60 Mann Av.), Ottawa
WHEN: Thursday May 10 – Saturday May 12, 2012 (all Thursday & Friday games will be held in the evening) Deadline to register is May 3
WHY: KidSport Ottawa is committed to helping kids break through the barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport. Through monetary support from the community of Ottawa, we will be able to increase accessibility for children and youth to participate in sport, and to move towards ensuring that all social and economic barriers preventing or limiting participation in organized sport are lifted.
