Lisa Peters
With the growth of hockey in Canada we are now starting to see a transition of strong female players to strong female coaches. Lisa Peters has eight years of coaching experience after a long career on the ice.
CARHA Hockey (CH): Where are you from?
Lisa Peters (LP): Winnipeg, MB
CH: What is your role in the hockey community?
LP: I am the assistant coach of the Manitoba Bisons Women's Hockey Team
CH: How did your career in hockey begin?
LP: I started playing around 4 and continued playing until 22. I got into coaching after my playing career and have coached for the past eight years at various levels from 15u to university.
CH: What role models did you have growing up?
LP: Manon Rheaume
CH: What has your best hockey moment been?
LP: I was captain for four years at a division 1 NCAA university hockey program and captain of Team Manitoba U18 team that competed in Cornerbrook, NFL in 1999.
CH: What are your next steps in the hockey world?
LP: I would like to get involved with Hockey Manitoba U18 Provincial Teams and move up to a head coaching position at the university level.
