Sudden Death Overtime
As a leader in the adult recreational hockey market, CARHA Hockey’s main focus will remain servicing its members. It is the association’s intention to actively enhance the overall experience of hockey players through the membership offerings and related programs. The Fit For Hockey program was introduced in 2004 and gives players the opportunity to raise both their fitness levels as well as their overall health awareness. By combining on and off ice training sessions, Fit For Hockey is intended to teach the participants the importance of recognizing their own physical abilities and monitoring personal health related habits.
CARHA Hockey also provides website hosting and a user-friendly league scheduling software program. These two tools allow league conveners the ability to build their league websites, and include scheduling, statistics, league news, rules and even a photo gallery option.
In following suit with the need for online services, CARHA Hockey also offers a National Referee Registry. CARHA Hockey recognizes the significant role that referees play in the adult recreational hockey community and have developed this membership program specifically with the referees in mind. The National Referee Registry allows members to promote their services to leagues and tournaments both locally and across Canada. Furthermore, an online quiz allows users to refresh and assess their knowledge of the CARHA Hockey Official Rule Book. Combine the exposure this program provides with the $10 Million in liability protection and you have another successful program that was created based on the feedback from its referee members.
