BFOHL Rules
Slap Shot Rule a) When a player uses a "slap shot" during the game, the play will be stopped and treated as an icing.
(Note): The use of a “snap shot” has been authorized by the BFHL HOCKEY Rules Committee.
The “snap shot” is to bring the stick back behind the puck a maximum of fifteen inches
either on or off the ice and to shoot the puck in wrist shot fashion.
Basically were saying any shot from above the ankle will not be allowed.
(b) If a player uses the action of a Fake Slap Shot, the referee will call ‘icing’ immediately.
Rule Changes 1. Icing from own blue line, not red line
2. Penalties -3 minutes
Spares 1. Must be 45+
2. Unknown players are to be rated afterwards by both captains
3. Start with names on roster list, replace with suitable caliber player
Age / Talent 1. No new full time players under 45, age to be reviewed at end of each season
2. Status of "top four" returning next year to be reviewed at season's end
Referees 1. Two referees
2. Rotate more referees through the league
Conduct 1. One warning, zero tolerance. Captains to review on-ice incidents with Commish
2. Captains to remind all players we are here for fun
Draft 1. Top players pulled from hat, remainder drafted
