A longtime CARHA Hockey member came to us with a unique opportunity for those who enjoy spending their winters out of the cold, but don't want to lose the sport they love so much.

Check it out below!

"As you may recall when you interviewed the Old Puck for an article for the 2020 CARHA Hockey World Cup, we have a new hockey complex here in Wesley Chapel, about 20 miles north of Tampa, Florida. The Advent Ice Center has an Olympic rink, three National Hockey League (NHL) sized rinks, studio rink, pro-shop, a complete off-ice training facility and full sports bar and grill. Check it out here!

We're hoping to recruit some "vintage" hockey players who take their winters on the west coast of Florida. We KNOW there are hockey players enjoying the sun, playing golf, traveling the state, seeing the sights and we'd like to add one more activity for them - early bird hockey!

We ideally want to create some teams where the lads can skate twice a week and continue their love for the game while on vacation and be off the ice in time to enjoy a game of golf on the many great golf courses in the area.

There are 250+ mobile home parks in the area that cater to 55+ adults who spend about six months a year thawing out. The parks range in size from 50 to over 3,000 units and most of the visitors hail from Canada and the Northern States.

The skates will be in the mornings, with one group playing from 6:30am to 8:00am, and the next group playing from 8:15am to 9:45am, twice a week!"
