Celebrating Pride Month: Interview with Jessica Platt
Platt is a current member of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) and a former member of the Toronto Furies, of the now-defunct Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL). As a transgender athlete, Platt advocates for equality in sport and is inspiring others to live their true self.
"I think looking at the stories of trans people, and listening to their experiences can be very powerful in helping people understand the trans community. When people can feel like they know a trans person they humanize them and it should then be harder to discriminate against them."

Mom's Got Game Spotlight: Valerie Drummond
Valerie fell in love with playing hockey at age 40. Not only a role model for her family, she's been a leader in growing the game in her community. Seeing females drop out of hockey after the Bantam level, she resurrected an all-female division.
"Before long we had the biggest enrollment in our MH Divisions with over 20 young girls (aged 13+) and women joining the group. It is still going strong!"
