IN OTHER SPORTS NEWS...

We rounded up some of our highlights for the month!
  • Ève Gascon became the third female goalie to play in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League regular-season game, joining Manon Rhéaume and Charline Labonté. She's the first to debut in net for the Gatineau Olympiques!
  • The PHF is making waves in Tampa Bay, Florida, this weekend for the Isobel Cup Playoffs!
  • ICYMI, the Toronto Six announced earlier this month a new ownership group that represents the first BIPOC & Canadian investors in PHF history! The group includes Hockey Hall of Famer Angela James alongside former NHLer Anthony Stewart, Carnegie Initiative co-chair Bernice Carnegie, and former NHL Coach of the Year Ted Nolan.
  • The PWHPA and PHF met earlier this week at the request of the NHL to further discuss the women's hockey groups working together to unify the sport. No news yet on the outcome, but TSN had some fun with a mock draft and we're all about it.
  • For our basketball fans, this is the first year the women's basketball tournament has been able to use the 'March Madness' branding, and ESPN has reported seeing a 15 percent jump in viewership through the first two rounds. Keep tuning in to women's sports.
  • And in baseball, Alexis "Scrappy" Hopkins made history as she's believed to be the first woman drafted by a professional baseball team.
